ESET named to Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection by leading analyst firm

Next story

ESET has been included in leading analyst firm Gartner’s May 2009 ‘Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms’, which addresses security technologies for the protection of corporate network endpoints for the SMB and large enterprise market.

According to Gartner, „Malware is increasingly Web-based (that is, it uses the Web as a distribution method and a command-and-control channel) and multistage — meaning there are multiple components that can be installed after the initial infection, depending on the motivation of the attacker and the victim's profile. In addition, the exploits of socially engineered trojans, which trick end users into downloading and executing malicious files, are on the rise and will continue to cause havoc in 2009 and beyond.”

ESET´s vision is to continue with optimization of its heuristic capabilities and key features to provide the most comprehensive security solution for SMBs. “ESET believes that SMBs need the most effective, easy-to-use antimalware solution combined with antispams and personal firewalls. According to us, our presence in Gartner’s report is affected by increased worldwide interest in our products,” said Richard Marko, ESET’s Chief Technology Officer.

ESET has launched the new generation of its flagship products for SMBs - ESET Smart Security Business Edition in March 2009 as it is a deeply integrated solution providing endpoint security for businesses of all sizes. ESET Smart Security brings the speed and precision of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and its powerful ThreatSense® engine and combines it with custom engineered firewall and antispam solutions.
